I don't know how I didn't do this earlier knowing how much I've wanted a city in the game.

City textures, that is buildings that look more urban-ish than town-ish. My idea is simple but brilliant(in my opinion). Last night and today I started working on other textures. One thing I regret a lot is the fact that they cut out the ships reflection in the water. I mean, the trees weren't swaying by the wind. Marvelous! Although the beta version of the game doesn't look like it had 100% 3D models in it. On a side matter - I saw the first web movies of the game - so many unknown buildings and units. Pity! The game could've been so much more but the devs messed it up half-way(or didn't bother with it instead). What version of GIMP are you using and are your steps the same? Also, are you testing this with AoC or Vanilla?Īs I feared. Could it be that the hospital texture is corrupted? But I need it! The result was the same, only the black textures you see in the upper image were invisible. The I tried to do a clean edit(took the original file and drew a black line). The compressed option made it looks broken, the uncompressed was OK. I'll test with GIMP and I'll write back in this post. I don't remember well, so I'll stick with sst for now. I read somewhere around her the AoC doesn't necessarily need sst conversion.

And I recall importing just the tga file into the game, without converting it to sst. I didn't have any problems but then I was using Photoshop 7. Before that was the guardian textures - last year. The other building(tower of london) is the one I edited most recently. Yes, Photoshop suggest the following options:Īnd like I said earlier, I tried both uncompressed and compressed where the later had worse result than the uncompressed.

Maybe tga files work only for background images. Putting a tga file in data/textures didn't work. So the problem has to be in saving the TGA file and/or Photoshop. HOWEVER, when I decompress the file and place it in Data/textures - it works fine. I just copied the extracted(uncompressed) hospital texture to Data/textures.
#EMPIRE EARTH 3 PORTABLE DOWNLOAD#
I'm saying this because on another forum a user scrolled to the bottom and thought he had to use a manager to download the file. Uncompressed just shows missing/invisible parts, like I showed on the screenshot.Ĭlick "myhospital.tga" at the top of the page, don't scroll to the bottom where you'll see a download manager. Compressed screwed up the textures big time(they looked grinded).
